Club Play Sessions at Golden Ears Pickleball Club
The Golden Ears Pickleball Club has implemented a convenient scheduling system through Sign Up Genius, enabling our members to secure their playing spots online. This user-friendly platform ensures that members can reserve their spots without the need to show up in person and wait to see if there is a space available. Our club spaces can book up quickly, especially for indoor sessions. As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we ask all new members to create a Sign Up Genius account to gain access to invitations to play, thereby promoting a streamlined and organized experience for all.
Our indoor club time is a dynamic and inclusive experience designed to cater to players of all skill levels. We have access to indoor courts at Pitt Meadows Recreation Centre (6 courts) and Maple Ridge Leisure Centre (6 courts) and in the nicer weather we use outdoor courts at Pitt Meadows Athletic Park and Garibaldi Secondary in Maple Ridge. Club time operates on a board system, categorized into Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. We aim to allow people to enjoy games with peers of similar abilities, however players are asked to be inclusive so that all players can enjoy their pickleball. We encourage flexibility and camaraderie. Join us on the courts and let the games begin!
We use a board system during all Club Play Sessions
- Your name can only be in one square at a time.
- You may choose to skip a square or more if you want to sit out.
- You may sign up with other player(s), as long as all players are off the courts and agree to play with you.
- You may sign up another player if you have their permission and they are not on the courts.
- When your “square” goes on a court, you should cross off your square on the whiteboard. Please leave the names there so that there is no confusion about who is going on court.
- The players in next square are to go onto the next empty court.
- That square must fill up and go on court before any other square can play.
- The winning team from a completed game gets to sign up first on the whiteboard after leaving the court.
- Choose the level you wish to play for the next game and indicate by pen colour.
- Black: Advanced/Competitive
- Blue: Intermediate
- Red: Beginner
- There may be times where skill levels need to mix together because there aren’t four of one particular skill level present. Please be kind and gracious if this should happen.
- If a twosome or foursome wants to sign up to play together, they can do so by putting their names in a box, even if there is an incomplete box already on the board, however, that group may not go out ahead of anyone waiting for other players to complete their foursome.
- The GEPBC is an inclusive club and we ask members to recognize that, if there are a number of foursomes continually playing together it can affect the experience of other members. We ask that in this situation you consider mixing for a game or two to ensure everyone has a good session.
